Beef Pepper Rice is served on a hot iron plate, where you mix the meat and sauce as you eat. At Pepper Lunch on the Inokashira Line’s Kichijoji-bound platform at Meidaimae Station, the signature dish brings together black pepper and a special pepper paste. You can choose the rice portion as well as the amount of meat: stick with the regular serving, or opt for a larger or extra-large portion when you want something more substantial. Some reviewers have felt that the rice outweighs the meat, so the larger meat options may appeal if you want more of it.
Other choices include beef short rib Kimchee Cheese Pepper Rice, which combines a spicy kick with the richness of melted cheese, and chicken Pepper Rice with broccoli. The chicken is milder than the beef, offering a different option if you want a lighter-tasting meat.
